Hi Peter,
It sounds like you can achieve what you want using camera specific presets and changing the standby wakeup action to none. Presets can be stored in two ways, either as a set of presets that will be activated for all cameras when recalled, or as a single camera spefic preset. The former method is the one that is used by the remote control and touch panel, but if you use the xAPI you have access to the latter. The two methods are described below.

1 xCommand Preset Store
PresetId(r): <1..15>
Type(r): <All/Camera>
Description: <S: 0, 255>
This stores the position of all connected cameras and assigns the position to a preset id and a description. This is the position for wake up from sleep and far end cam control. All camera positions are recalled when preset is executed.

2 xCommand Camera Preset Store
PresetId: <1..35>
CameraId: <1..7>
ListPosition: <1..35>
Name: <S: 0, 255>
This can store the position for cameras independently using camera ids. The camera Id works such that the first camera in the chain is Id 1, the second Id 2 etc.

In order to prevent the cameras from moving around upon boot and when returing from standby you can modify the bootaction and wakeupaction presets:
xConfiguration Standby BootAction: None (or any preset)
xConfiguration Standby WakeupAction: None (or any preset)
Hope this helps,

As I found out, doing connected layouts with images from the cameras with the TC Console tool is nice but I loose much of the viewable section of the screen, when I put two or three camera segments together in a new layout.
Consequently I am thinking about having voice driven (microphone input driven) active segment camera switching (actually something very similar/same like on a TX1300).
This means, that certain microphones, when they go over a predefined input gain/power must switch the appropriate congregated camera as the main camera output.
Is this possible with the C90/C60 out of the box ?

Thanks and best regards,

Mihail
Typically this is called Video Follows Audio. And you need a external Crestron, AMX or other controller for this. You query which microphone has input then map X,Y coordinates for that microphone to the pertinent camera. It helps a great deal if you have PTT (Push to talk microphones like the Shure MX392 or similar for this) as you do not have to worry about false triggers from adjacent microphones etc. The deal only really wiorks so long as the microphones remain at fixed locations at all times so the X, Y coordinates do not have to be continually updated.

Allrighty Then, Here is one to ponder on sleepless nights. I have some divisable rooms that share a common codec (C40) We have 3 HD precision 1080p 12X cameras daisychained to cover the rooms when divided and combined. When the rooms are in the segragated mode and one side takes control of the Codec the other room no longer has access to any control or video feed from the side with the VTC session. This is accomplished via creative touch panel control. The problem is that people in the room that does not have access to the codec and by extension the cameras are being very much alarmed when the HD camera in thier room start moving around. This is particularly true when a Codec Preset is selected by the room which has control of the codec. My question is as follows. Is there a means of selecting specific cameras to be included in the recorded preset, so the cameras not relevent to that preset do not move or indicate operation in any fashion? The video from the cameras are routed through a matrix switch so non participating room never see the camera feeds but the RS-232 control is connected directly to the codec. We were thinking that we would remove power to any cameras not participating in the conference this would certainly prevent any activity from those selected cameras. Is there a issue removing and restoring 12v power from daisy chained cameras?
How is the camera addressing handled, I have found no information on how to assign a specific address to any of the HD precision Cameras. It is clear that cameras in a daisy chain are addressed in some fashion as the command require you to open the camera command with an address (8x).
The requirement is to prevent any activity on any HD Precision 1080 camera that is not considered part of the active Video conference. Ideally this would be either to restrict commands to selected cameras in the daisy chain connected to the codec or by removing power selectively from certain cameras. We already have a solution for removing and restoring power to selected cameras but want to know if this is an acceptable solution for daisy chained cameras. We would also like input on excluding cameras from preset settings on the C40.

I am working with the AMX module for a Cisco C60 endpoint (Cisco_C60_Comm_dr1_0_0) version 2.0.2 and getting inconsistent results with the PHONEBOOKSEARCH command and a corporate phone book. It seems like maybe there are certain contacts in the phonebook that are causing a search that should return all the records (i.e. ID=*), to indicate zero results. I've tried adding one contact at a time, verifying that I can issue the search command and get all results, then when I get zero results I remove the last contact I added, but issuing another search command will still return zero results. The only way I seem to be able to get results again is to completley erase the phonebook and start over adding contacts. Is there any particual format the contacts should be in to work with this module? Or any suggestions as to what else I can try to troubleshoot this problem?
One other issue I've come across is the DIALID command does not seem to do anything. If I send the DIALID command to the virtual device (using an ID that was returned from a phonebook record), should I see an xcommand get issued to the physical device? I'm not seeing that happen.

If this is something new that needs to be done in code or telnet, what about all the systems that are already out there, with control systems. Once they get upgraded to this new firmware, they will start to have issues, surely adding a feature does not mean we should break what was working.

Also as a FYI, the new AMX module has removed the Channel feedabck number 314. I am contacting AMX about this, but just incase you have a way to get this info to them.

thanks David. Tried that and several other configurations but still no luck. The system was only a month old when I did the upgrade and it worked fine before the upgrade. Since no one else has replied to this post I am guessing it may be a problem with just this codec. So will probably do an RMA on it.

Russ

Russel,
if you can get selfview on the one screen there is no reason for RMA'ing the system. RMS should only be done if there is suspicions of hardware failure. This seems to be a software issue. Although this is a support issue case I would like to help you here as the reason behind why this has happened in your case concerns me.

Do you have access to SSH on the system?
If so can you try the following:
Issue on the command line the following
1xconfiguration Video Output

The result should show two outputs with "MonitorRole". Are these showing "First" + "Second" or "First" + "PresentationOnly" ? If not then this may be an issue.
Also can you try the following:
1xcommand Video Selfview Set Mode: On FullscreenMode: On OnMonitorRole: First

or
1xcommand Video Selfview Set Mode: On FullscreenMode: On OnMonitorRole: Second

Any luck?

Hi All,

I'm facing the same problem with C40. I upgraded C40 to 6.0.1 version. The problem same with all of your problem, equal layout option is showing only PIP on first monitor, second monitor is always blank, and if i share the presentation it is not showing on first or second monitor. But i try to do this step:

1. Connect your PC to C40 for share presentation and keep it share to codec.

2. Change the resolution of second output to "Auto" and see different. I try this step (2) and it can showing the presentation on second monitor. Next, you have to change the resolution of second output to desired resolution (Don't forget to change your PC resolution to resolution that supported with your monitor). I try this step and it can showing presentation normally.

3. If step 2 successed, stop share presentation. And go to step 4.

4. Change the PIP selfview on first monitor to second monitor with this command "xCommand Video Selfview Set OnMonitorRole: Second" and make it full screen with this command "xCommand Video SelfviewDefault FullscreenMode: on". I try this step (4) and the selfview move to second monitor. The first monitor is not blank, but it's showing wallpaper if you are not dialing the other site.

5. I try to dial the other site and C40 work normally. First monitor showing the other site, second monitor showing selfview. And if i share the presentation, C40 can work normally too with first monitor showing the other site, second monitor showing the presentation with PIP selfview.

Let's try and wish you luck.

Thank your for the quick response. This was a big help.

I found this did not work:

xfeedback register /configuration/autoanswer/mode did not work.

With a little more experimentation I found

xfeedback register /configuration/conference/autoanswer/mode works

Thanks again

Autoanswer mode is not a status, but a configuration. The expression should be /configuration/autoanswer/mode
xfeedback register /configuration/video/selfview
The expression is correct. However, if you are using TC6 and higher then you should look at the selfview command + selfview statuses instead as we have expanded the flexibility of selfview to include size and which screen to show selfview on.
Better to use:
xfeedback register /status/video/selfview/mode to check if selfview is on or off.

I also need a little explanation. I have succesfully used:
xFeedback register /Event/CallDisconnect
xFeedback register /Event/CallSuccessful
I would like to do the same for standby, presentation mode, auto answer mode and selfview.
I have tried these:
xfeedback register /standby/active
xfeedback register /conference/presentation/mode
xfeedback register /status/autoanswer/mode
xfeedback register /configuration/video/selfview
The all seem to register and when I xfeedback list they appear in the list but the feedback is not changed when I manualyl change the status on the codec.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, David. We do have a DSP infront of the codec, so we could mute the audio there, just as easily. I typically like to use both the DSP and codec for privacy functions, as we use the real-time feedback of the codec's privacy status to drive other muting functions (such as for a telco interface, etc.). This is useful in a situation where someone uses the handheld remote to mute the mics; everyhting stays in-sync.

Just the same, David, I've never heard this request before. I suppose they want speak kindly of those on the far-end without the far-end knowing they're doing so.

Hi Brian,
this is something that we don't support directly as a configuration. Technically I guess it IS possible to do it using the API of the audio mixer to disconnect the signals from the microphones input from the output gate for output gates to the farend (see "xCommand Audio LocalInput xxx"-commands in the administrator guide). Alternatively is to adjust the input gain to the farend to the minimum value instead of muting using "xCommand Audio RemoteOutput UpdateInputGain" and set InputGain to: -54.
Personally I would ask the customer again why this is so important - I have never heard this request before :-)

Cheers,
David
