Cisco's Unified Computing System E-Series Server (UCS-E) provides new feature rich functionality. This server is available in single and double wide forms, contains multi-core processors and supports several RAID level configurations. Partners may install Windows or Linux operating systems or install virtualization platforms such as ESXi 5.0, Hypervisor 5 or Xen Server in order to run multiple servers within the virtual environment. This flexible feature reduces total cost of ownership by providing an all-in-one computing and networking system for branch offices.
The Cisco UCS E-Series Server Modules (E-Series Servers) deliver the next generation of Cisco UCS servers. E-Series Servers are a family of blade servers that are housed within the Generation 2 of the Cisco Integrated Services Routers (ISR G2). E-Series Servers provide the following:

- A general purpose compute platform for branch-office applications, such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, or VMware.
- A hosting platform for virtualized Cisco branch-office services, such as Cisco Virtual Wide Area Application Services (vWAAS), Cisco Virtual Wireless LAN Controllers (vWLCs), and Cisco Virtual Intrusion Prevention System (vIPS).
