One thing I note is that the CIMC requires a username/password which we were not given - Also is there a way this can be switched off, basically can we boot the server by plugging in a keyboard and screen and boot from a usb device

- Thanks Ray

The Release Notes contain the user/password information which we have set on CIMC as admin/password.  They Release Notes can be downloaded from our Knowledge Base at http://developer.cisco.com/group/ucse/docs .  I've attached them here as well.

Regarding plugging in a keyboard/monitor, the UCS-E doublewide board that you have has a VGA port as well as USB ports on which you can plug in a monitor/mouse/keyboard.

In terms of booting from the USB flash drive, I'm assuming here that you mean you'd like to install the OS from the USB?  If so, yes this feature is supported, but you need to do the initial configuration via the KVM provided in the CIMC GUI interface.

Thanks,

Brett

Ray,

default username and password for CIMC are: 'admin' / 'password'. the CIMC access will always ask for username and password.

you can boot up the host (intel) side with a keyboard and monitor.

thanks,

Jin

Hi Ray/Brett,

Would just like to add that you can also boot from a USB drive plugged directly into the module - you don't have to go through the remote KVM. Press F6 when prompted during boot to select the boot device.

Thanks,
Daniel
