Trying the UCS Platform emulator Lite (as supplied with the UCS reference guide book).
I am using vmware workstation 6.5.4 build-246459 & it loads OK.
I can ping the emulator, but cannot browse!
Anyone else had this issue.

I'm also having the same issues. I have read through the blogs/forums and suspect that it has something to do with the version of java that I have installed, but it seems to check out okay. I have 32-bit browser, 32-bit java 1.6.21, and 32/64 VMWare, but the browser just hangs and never connects.

You have to disable your wireless and wired network cards... that's what worked for me

Hey, got another update for you. I didn't want to go around with my nic disabled, so I did some more digging. The browser had "use automatic configuration script" checked; which I have to use in my location to get anywhere. Current workaround is to disable proxies instead of the network adapters and use firefox to surf the web since it has standalone proxy settings
