RE: getProfileSoap - what's the point?

Combination View Flat View Tree View
Threads [ Previous | Next ]
The documentation doesn't really say what getProfileSoap is supposed to return.

By calling it for various users it seems to do the following:
return controlled devices and their lines (regardless of cti control flags)

Is that supposed to be it? For users that also have EM I noted that even if they're logged in, getProfileSoap does not return those devices. Neither is there anything happening if a phone has an ownerUserId set.

So is it correct that we have to resort to the EM service / AXL SQL DB queries to deal with extension mobility? I have no trouble calling makeCall for the EM device, but since it's not returned by getProfileSoap I have to do the device selection using other means.

What version of UCM are you testing with?  Can you describe in a little detail the sequence of events/observations?  The intention of getDeviceProfile would be to give you a list of possible originators for the Webdialer makecall - AFAIK this should be interacting with E/M, but I would like to try your scenario.

I was testing it against a 6.1.4.2190-3.

I configured a bunch of users.. users that had nothing (=> no result), users that had a device (via owner user id => no result), users that had devices associated via device association (=> those devices and lines where returned), user that was logged in via em (=> no results), user that had devices associated and was logged in via em (=>associated devices were returned).

Now that I got my CCM7 back I also tested it against CCM7 - and the results are the same. Extension mobility is not taken into account at all. Only associated devices and their lines are returned. CCM7 version:  7.1.3.30000-1
