HDK Mounting Tray Sample

Use these 3D sample mechanical files to print your own Cisco Aironet Developer Platform HDK mounting tray. This reference design file can be used as-is or modified with CAE tools to add custom features.

ABS print material is recommended for optimal strength. The mounting posts on the mounting tray are designed to accept M3 self tapping screws.

Note Depending on the printer, smaller M2.5 screws may be used to avoid splitting the printed mounting posts.

AP3800 EM interface - 3D Model

Use this 3D model of the Cisco Aironet AP3800 series expansion module interface. Please consult your Cisco SE for mechanical design review.

12 V DC Power Output

A single 4/2.35 mm female DC jack can used for powering third party modules that require 12VDC, such as the Intel NUC. The power output is efused at 5A. The output power can enabled/disabled usng the SW2 slide switch or the J9 jumper.

For convenience and least confusion, leave it enabled.

The actual maximum power output provided by the 12VDC jack depends on the power supplied to the board from the AP or the external 12VDC jack input. The values are given below.

Maximum Power Output Power Supplied to the Board from
0.95 A AP through Golden Finger connector giving 12 V input
2.1 A DC jack (J1) with 12 V at 2.5 A input
4.6 A DC jack (J1) with 12 V at 5 A input

Intel NUC Modules

The Intel NUC module power supply and power consumption vary greatly among available models. With uPoE AP power, the HDK can directly power 15W or less low-power NUC's that can run on 12VDC. Examples include Atom or Celeron-class NUC's.
