Serial IDPROM
To ensure security and authenticity between the AP, WLC, and external modules, a signed image resident in a serial I2C IDPROM is required for all modules. A unique Cisco-signed image will be provided to third party module partners for prototyping and production purposes.
Contact adp_support@cisco.com for further details.
Note: The HDK IDPROM is preprogrammed to allow functionality with the Host AP; no partner actions are required.
HDK for Prototyping
For prototyping purposes, tokens can be written to module serial PROMs via the host AP by typing the u-boot>> prog_emcookie <Cisco-provided-token>.bin
command at the AP's CLI prompt.
Partner Modules for Production
Partners need to program the IDPROMs on their developed modules with the Cisco-generated encrypted token to enable the host AP to allow the module to function.
Customer modules must have their own unique IDPROM with an encrypted token provided by Cisco. To generate the token for custom-developed modules, partners must also submit the following module parameters to adp_support@cisco.com:
