Introduction

Space Fleet is a reference solution for the Cisco Observability Platform. It has a whimsical theme reminiscent of Star Trek without violating any copyrights ("Fair Use Clause"). Its premise is that a spacefleet domain consists of spacecraft entities that are equipped with Kubernetes clusters. The spacefleet domain also includes many other entities, metrics, and events. The solution bundles a data simulator that generates MELT data for the entities modeled by the solution. Generated data includes scenario-based telemetry workloads to simulate "live action" such as changes in speed, intercom messages, news alerts, and torpedo exchanges. The domain and entities that Space Fleet defines do not appear on the Observe page until the platform creates those entities based on incoming MELT data.
