What can the Cisco Spaces Location Cloud API be used for?

  • The Cisco Spaces Location Cloud API helps with search and display of location devices. To manage these devices and their location on maps, the Cisco Spaces Location Cloud API can be used to get this information.
  • The GET method for devices or maps can be used to get information on devices and location hierarchy (also known as sites). They can be further filtered by location and device types.

The Cisco Spaces Location Cloud API includes the following resources:

  • Map – Navigate the maps hierarchy and retrieve map element. Maps display the location of devices. The maps can be categorized into multiple hierarchies from Campus -> Building -> Floors -> Zones on a floor. Device is located in a zone on a floor. The Map API helps in querying this location hierarchy information and retrieving map elements so user can validate their location data. Map here represents workspace map of a tenant (also known as organization). The tenant utilizes the Cisco Spaces services for this workspace map.
  • Active devices - Retrieve devices information and devices count. Devices API provides device information and count value for number of devices located in a given location. This can be filtered based on location hierarchy like devices on a floor, building etc. Device types are access points, interferer, tag devices, rogue a access points.
  • Devices history - Retrieve device history information. Device history API provides device history information for a given device or multiple devices.
