Multiple Profiles for Multiple Apps
Depending on the OS of your device, you will need to configure separate profiles for each app on your device.
When you register an app in the Cisco Spaces dashboard, follow the below process:
Configure Profile for Android Device:
- Configure unique Package Name for each app.
- Specify a friendly name. This name will be displayed as the Wi-Fi SSID name on the your Android device.
Note:
- This friendly name will be visible only when the device is within range of the OpenRoaming network.
- If a device has multiple profiles and it is in proximity of the OpenRoaming network, it will display multiple friendly names as SSIDs.
- Enter a unique domain name for the profile. If you have more than one app, then each app must have a unique domain name.
Note: You should add this domain name in the controller configuration.
- (Optional) Select the Roaming Consortium OIs.
Configure Profile for iOS:
Specify Bundle Identifier. This should be unique for each app.
In the Enter Displayed Operator Name, specify a valid name.
Note: Do not use special characters.
Enter a unique domain name for the profile. If you have more than one app, then each app must have a unique domain name.
Note: You should add this domain name in the controller configuration.
- (Optional) Select the Roaming Consortium OIs.
Note: Abnormalities/Issues are observed in Wi-Fi SSID connectivity on iOS devices when there is more than one profile installed. It is a known issue. Apple will address it.
