The IOS XE on CSR Latest Code Always On Sandbox offers developers shared, VPN-less access to an IOS XE device running the latest IOS XE code release available on cisco.com. Here, you can test out the newest programmability features and data models available.

>**Note**: The code release provided in this sandbox is updated regularly as new code is released for IOS XE (approximately every 4 months).


  • Access at any time without making a reservation or using VPN connection
  • Provides access to a pre-configured network topology running on genuine Cisco hardware
  • Cannot configure the network or devices on it
  • Because this sandbox is always available to all users, any other user may potentially overwrite your work at any time.
Cisco IOS XE on CSR Recommended Code Sandbox

The IOS XE on CSR Recommended Code Sandbox offers developers access to an IOS XE device running the current recommended IOS XE code release available on cisco.com.

>**Note**: The code release provided in this sandbox is updated as the recommended code version from the BU changes (approximately every 12 months).

  • Provides access to a pre-configured network topology running on genuine Cisco hardware

Reservation Based Sandboxes

Cisco IOS XE Cat 9K Sandbox
REQUIRES RESERVATION
The IOS XE on Catalyst 9000 Sandbox offers developers access to a physical Catalyst 9000 switch. Here you can test out the programmability features and data models available in this upgrade! NOTE: This sandbox is not built to support testing of Day 0 Technologies such as ZTP, iPXE, and PNP. If you try to clear out configurations and use these features, you will lose access to your switch.

  • Requires a reservation and setup of VPN
  • Provides your own private Lab environment for the duration of the reservation, and you can allow other users to access the Lab by invitation.
  • Perfect for working on lighter-weight application development projects that do not require a large network
  • Provides access to pre-configured network topologies running on genuine Cisco hardware
