Prerequisites
Order Cisco LoRaWAN network devices and Cisco sensors using PnP and your Cisco Smart Account.
Hardware requirements
Cisco IXM LoRaWAN gateway + accessories
Note: IAV is not supported with 3rd party LoRaWAN gateway.
- IXM-LPWA-900-16-K9: Cisco wireless gateway for LoRaWAN, 902-928 MHz ISM band, 16 LoRa channels, IP67.
- IXM-LPWA-800-16-K9: Cisco wireless gateway for LoRaWAN, 863-870 MHz ISM band, 16 LoRa channels, IP67.

Cisco LoRaWAN sensors
Third party sensors:
- Limitations
- Sensor from LoRa Alliance certified device catalog.
- AS923 not currently supported.
- Ensure registration and power up instructions are followed:
- Sub-band of sensor compatible with IAV channel scheme (US and AUS - Sub Band 1).
- DevEUI, AppKey, and LoRa version entered properly per vendor provided information.
- Sensor vendor instructions followed to power up and batteries ok.
Software requirements
- For the dashboard application, the software will be delivered as Cloud-hosted SaaS; thus, upgrades are done to running versions. No customer action is anticipated to receive updates.
- For Cisco Asset Vision mobile application, if a newer version is present, the application will show an alert to the user after they log in. They can then update the application by going to the AppStore/Playstore.
- Cisco’s CPF (Common Packet Forwarder) is used for deployment of the Industrial Asset Vision. This software is contained within the firmware version 2.3.0.
- Firmware for sensors are pre-loaded during the manufacturing process.
- When used with Industrial Asset Vision, the IXM reserves the following subnets. These subnets should not be provided to the IXM for use on its Ethernet interface:
- 10.0.0.0/16
- 172.18.0.0/16
- 172.16.0.0/28
