Sensor application
The Sensor Application interface shows the sensor list, the application health, and the sensor deployment status. It allows you to install, uninstall, or redeploy the sensor application onto a network device.
Actions on a sensor
The following two Actions can be done on a running sensor from the Sensor Application menu:
- Redeploy a sensor. Applies a new configuration.
- Uninstall a sensor. Deletes the application from the platform.
Sensor status
- Application Health Status: A running and connected sensor has an Online status. Unknown status indicates communication issues with the application.
- Sensor Deployment Status: This status indicates the sensor installation status. It indicates the sensor application installation steps, such as Running, Deploying, or Installed. Status can be Failed.
- Active Discovery: Active Discovery is not yet available in the current release. Unavailable displays.
Enroll a sensor application
Currently, you can enroll the Cisco Cyber Vision sensor application on the Cisco IR1101 Rugged Series Industrial Routers.
Prerequisites
You can enroll a sensor in Cisco Cyber Vision only if the device is managed by Edge Device Manager (EDM) and its status is UP. See Get Started with IoT Operations Dashboard. Click Edge Device Manager > Inventory > In Use tab. Find your device.
The IR1101 device must be using firmware version 17.6.1 or higher. See Supported devices and firmware. Use Edge Device Manager Service to upgrade. See Update network device firmware.
Verify that no IOx application is installed on the device, before installing the Cyber Vision sensor application. No other IOx application (e.g., SEA) can be installed on the same device because of CPU and memory resource constraints.
To verify there is no other application installed:
- Click Edge Device Manager > Inventory.
- Search for your device and click on it.
- In the Summary details, use the dashlet or the Applications tab to verify the Applications count is 0.
To verify for a specific asset:
- Click the Device Configuration tab.
- In the Device Specific Varriables section, click Services in the left banner.
- Verify Cisco Cyber Vision is Enabled for the asset.
- If you made any changes, push the configuration to the device.

To verify for a group of assets:
- Click View More on the right margin to see the Configuration Group.
- Click the link in Configuration Group.
- Click Edit Group.
- Click Configurations tab.
- Click Services in the left banner.
- Verify Enable Cyber Vision is set to True. Use the drop-down arrow.
- If you made any changes, click Save. Close the window.
- Click Push Config in the Configuration window. This updates the asset, if necessary.
