The Cisco Catalyst 9000 series of switches consists of multiple products targeted at different segments of the network. They all share a common hardware architecture and operating system.

The Application Hosting capabilities on these platforms further extends Cisco Fog Computing capabilities from small footprint switches such as the ISR 8xx and IR 8xx platforms to more powerful switches like the Catalyst 9000.
