Deploying the OVA File on VMware Workstation / Fusion¶
CML may be deployed as a virtual machine (VM). CML VM deployments are only tested and supported on specific releases of VMware products. Before you deploy the CML OVA file to VMware, ensure that you have installed and are running a supported release of VMware Player, Workstation, Fusion, or ESXi.
Caution
In the future, if you need to delete or redeploy the CML VM, you must first deregister the CML server to release the license associated with the installation. If you fail to deregister the CML server before deleting its VM, your license will still be shown as in use even after you delete the CML VM. You will be unable to use that license with a new CML deployment until you recover the license. See Licensing - Deregistration for more details.
You have a copy of the CML controller OVA and refplat ISO files on your local machine.
Procedure
Locate the CML OVA file.
Use your system’s file browser, such as File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac).
Right-click on the file and select
or .VMware Workstation (Windows) or VMware Fusion (Mac) will open the import wizard.
Follow prompts in the VMware import wizard to complete the import.
When the import completes, click Customize or Finish.
Attention
Do not start the virtual machine!
After you have imported the OVA to VMware, you must configure the VM’s settings before you start it.
