Versioning

Beginning with release 26.1.1, Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager will have two extended maintenance releases each year, with the first release scheduled for the first half of 2026.

The platform uses a feature-based versioning model to manage API versioning and its lifecycle, with the versions indicated directly in the URL path. This approach minimizes the impact of updates on API consumers. We only update the API path version when there are backward-incompatible changes. We strongly recommend that developers migrate applications to the latest available versions. A developer must ensure migration to non-deprecated versions before the specified sunset date.

Deprecation

We maintain and document deprecated APIs for two major releases. Following this period, the API enters the sunset phase.

Sunsetting

An API operation or version is sunset once the deprecation period expires. Sunsetting represents a breaking change. Consult the API Changelog for detailed description of all API modifications.
