Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Learning Path?

This Path provides a curated collection of learning materials from Cisco DevNet. The intent is to offer small, hands-on learning opportunities that you can pick up as you have time for learning.
Do I need to set up an account to accesses any learning material in the Path?
+
Yes, you must have a Cisco DevNet account so you can log in and keep track of your progress.
Do I have to enter a credit card or pay for this account and access to the learning materials?
+
No, the DevNet account and access to all these Labs is free-of-charge, and you do not have to enter a credit card to make an account.
Do I have to finish all of the Learning Labs in the category in one session?
+
No, you can pick and choose which Labs you are interested in and only complete those, and because the system tracks where you started and stopped, you can return and pick up where you left off.
Do I have to do the Learning Labs in a certain order?

No, you do not have to go in order, and you do not have to complete sections in one sitting. The Path keeps track of your progress each time you log in, and while we do suggest you start with beginner topics, you can skip to topics you’re interested in as needed.
I think I completed a Learning Lab, why is my progress not updated?
+
Make sure to click the green arrow button on the last page of the Lab, otherwise the system doesn’t mark it as completed. If you are sure you have done this, you can try to manually resynchronize your data .
Are there system requirements, meaning, do I have to install anything to do these Labs?

Each Lab has their own prerequisites listed for what is needed in your development environment. There are instructions in the Lab on how to install the necessary programs for that Lab, often in a blue banner link to “How to Setup Your Own Computer.
