Introduction

The UC Express Services Interface enables protocol interaction between CUCME and 3rd Party Application Services to perform CTI functions, including Call Monitoring, Call Control and Call Provisioning with any SCCP device registered with CUCME. This new Interface includes two elements: 1) embedded CTI protocol support within CME; 2) Java Function Library (referred to as the "UC Express Services SDK") that co-resides on an external server with the 3rd party application.

The UC Express Services Interface includes: ¿ New CTI protocols embedded w/in CME ¿ SDK "Tool Kit" to integrate with the CME CTI features

The UC Express Services Interface enables:

  • 3rd party application control and monitoring of call state on any CME registered device
  • Enables telephony provisioning using AXL by hosted applications

The UC Express Services Interface is based on various technologies, including:

  • CSTA, an ECMA standard, to define CTI features
  • TR-87, which defines transport of CSTA messages over SIP
  • AXL Protocols to support dynamic provisioning to modify running CME config
  • XSI Tunneling to exchange XML messages from application to Cisco IP phones
