The Place In Network (PIN) API resource predicts the functional roles and importance of devices in the network based on configuration and feature information; this provides meaningful metadata to enrich customer device information. The combination of the business importance and technical role of the device gives us a better understanding of the device's Place in Network. These attributes can be used to filter and prioritise devices with risks to focus remediation efforts based on devices with highest impact to the business.
Sample Use cases:
Security Advisories: use PIN as a prioritization mechanism for developing security remediation plans and software upgrades.
Hardware End of Life: identify critical and high importance devices that are no longer supported, or are rapidly approaching Last Date of Support.
