Preparing for OVA Installation¶
To deploy CML as a virtual machine (VM), you must first download both the controller OVA file and the reference platform ISO file.
The OVA file is the CML server VM with the CML UI, controller, and other application software. Note that the CML VM is configured with defaults that may not be appropriate for your installation. Before starting the CML VM, follow the steps to configure the appropriate settings for your particular installation.
The refplat ISO file contains a VM image for each of the different node types that can be run in CML labs. You cannot start lab simulations in CML without the VM images from the refplat ISO.
Ensure that you are running a VMware hypervisor version that meets the CML System Requirements. CML VM deployments are only tested and supported on specific releases of VMware products.
