General Webex Meetings API Service

Question Index

How much does it cost to use the Webex Meetings APIs?

If you are looking to integrate with an existing third-party product that uses the Webex Meetings APIs, please contact your Webex Meetings Customer Service Manager. Your Customer Service Manager will help you to gather the required information for the integration. For example, if you want to integrate the LMS that we purchased with Webex Meetings, it requests a site ID and partner ID for its configuration screen.

If you plan on developing and using the APIs on your production Webex Meetings site, you will need to sign up for our Gold Developer Plan. Please contact your Webex Meetings Customer Service Manager or a Webex Meetings Sales representative to get pricing information.

What does the Gold Development Plan offer?

This program allows the usage of the API on a production site. We will also provide you a dedicated development site with site admin access. The dedicated development site will receive updates prior to any production site upgrades. This allows you to verify the integration works with any new features that Webex Meetings provides. Additionally, you will receive an access to the Developer Services team who are available to provide consulting-type services in reviewing project plans and workflow to ensure that you are successful with the API implementation.

How do I setup a test account to try the APIs?

Detailed instruction can be found on the Try Webex Meetings APIs page.

What are the limitations of the test site?

The test site will not give you access to a site admin account. Thus, you will be limited to Webex Meetings APIs that do not require admin level access. International Calling and Access Anywhere accounts are not available. All sessions are limited to four users with a maximum of 20 minutes per session.

How can I get a dedicated development site?

You will need to sign up for our Gold Developer Plan. Please contact your Webex Meetings Customer Service Manager or a Webex Meetings Sales Representative to get pricing information.

What are the limitations on a dedicated development site?

All sessions are limited to four users with a maximum of 20 minutes per session. Reporting and Network-Based Recording are not enabled by default. If you need one of these servers enabled on your development site, please contact your Webex Meetings Customer Service Manager to have this service turned on.

What version control is supported for APIs?

XML API have version controlled access. API version is tied to the WBS version for compatibility. For example, WBS 28 is supported by XML API 7.3.0. WBS 29 is supported by XML API 8.0.0. Between major version releases of WBS, we need a major version change, since we introduce new functionality which will need to be supported by APIs and may not be available in older version of Trains/APIs. Integrators are required to upgrade their integrations and perform regression testing to stay up-to-date with new versions.

What is an API lockdown?

API lockdown is tied to a production site lockdown. If a Webex site is locked down on a version, the integration should use one of the matching XML API version for that lockdown. For example, if a site lockdown version is not available, APIs for that release cannot be locked down as well. This implies that we are still adding some new functionality to that version of the API. If a site version can be locked down, and integrations have upgraded to the new API version, we will ensure backward compatibility for the rest of that combination.
