Getting Help with XPRESSO
About Getting Help with XPRESSO
You may need to contact other resources when working with XPRESSO to help you with operational restrictions due to your permission settings with your assigned role, with system-wide problems/requirements, or for integration issues for tools that interface with XPRESSO. XPRESSO has a built-in messaging tool to help you contact other resources.
The following guidelines outline who to contact for help when working with XPRESSO:
Group Admins: The Group Admin for your current active group is the first line of contact for most operational problems/issues including not being able to perform a specific action because of your permission settings for your assigned role.
EXAMPLE:
If you currently have a Group Member role, you may not have the ability to set a Baseline or add a Branch. The Group Admin needs to either change your role to a Privileged Member role (this Membership role can perform these actions), or change the default permissions for these actions to include users with a Group Member role.
System Administrator: Contact your System Administrator for authorizations to:
● Micro Services |
● Common Settings |
● History |
● LaaS Instances |
● Groups |
● Users |
● System Messages |
● Monitoring Images |
● Plugins |
Change your user type permission setting to a higher level (for example, a Group Admin user requesting to become a System Administrator).
All situations that require higher-level permission or problems beyond the scope of what a Group Admin is able to perform.
XPRESSO technical support team: Contact the XPRESSO technical support team for situations where you encounter advanced problems or potential defects when working with XPRESSO, or to provide feedback/suggestions on how to improve XPRESSO to meet your network automation requirements.
NOTE:
Since XPRESSO is part of the pyATS ecosystem, ensure you contact the correct support team related to your issue to get a faster response.
Lab IT Specialist: Contact your Lab IT specialist for LaaS lab (and resources) or testbed configuration issues and with general server problems.
pyATS technical support team: Contact the pyATS technical support team (pyats-support@cisco.com) for advanced pyATS issues related to your pyATS environment such as problems with your test harness instance.
Sending Messages from XPRESSO
You can send messages to the following personnel directly from the XPRESSO dashboard:
- XPRESSO Technical Support
- System Admins
- Other Group Members
The launch point for composing a new message is the same for all message recipients:
To Send a Message from XPRESSO:
From the Main Navigation Bar, choose Settings, Contacts & Help→Contact Portal to open the Contact Messaging page.
Select the appropriate contact category (tab): Technical Support | System Admins | Other Current Group Members.
Enter the message details. Note the attributes for each selectable category:
For messages addressed to the XPRESSO Support team, the message address is hard-coded and cannot be changed.
For messages addressed to the System Admins or other Group Members, you have the option to direct the message to a specific person or multiple persons. Select the pull-down menu adjacent to the To: field to access all available addresses. Click the appropriate checkboxes to select one or more recipients.
In tandem with the built-in message system, you also have the option to send the same message via a standard email to the external email account registered to the System Admin or Group Admin in the event you are not sure the recipient is actively using XPRESSO.
Message can be prioritized by Importance (Low, Medium, or High).
Click the Send button to complete the action.
NOTE:
See Messaging in XPRESSO for information about how to access messages sent to you through XPRESSO:
