Log-in Requirements/Assumptions
Before you log into XPRESSO for the first time, it is assumed that the following pre-requisite items/tasks are completed:
XPRESSO has been installed (currently handled by the XPRESSO support team).
The 'DEFAULT' System Admin account/email address is configured in XPRESSO and assigned to the appropriate user. As new users register to use XPRESSO, the System Admin is notified of these requests and approves/denies them appropriately.
A web address to the server that hosts XPRESSO has been provided to you and is reachable.
NOTE 1:
If a required item/task is not complete, contact the XPRESSO Support team at the email address noted above.
NOTE 2:
While access to the XPRESSO dashboard requires authorized user credentials, all other forms of access from XPRESSO such as REST APIs and CLI APIs requires the use of your automation token for authentication.
Logging in for the First Time - External Users
Logging into XPRESSO is a two-step process: (requires pre-existing Cisco account access).
To Login for the First Time - External Users:
- Account Creation: Before you can use XPRESSO, you need to login into the server that hosts XPRESSO to register your user login details and to enter and confirm your email address.

Determining your Current Membership role and Group
When you are approved/registered to use XPRESSO, you are automatically assigned to a Guest role which is designed to be a transient (default) Membership role in the default "Guest" Group.
Next Steps after your First Login
Now that you successfully logged into/registered in XPRESSO, and have an assigned Membership role and Group, you might ask... "Where do I go from here?"
The recommended next step is to complete the XPRESSO Quick Start; it provides a high-level task list that focusses on the most common and frequently used tasks and features that XPRESSO is designed for — it walks you through the steps to create and execute a single Job/Job Request and how to view and search your test results.
The Quick Start also introduces you to all complementary Getting Started information and steps to get you quickly working with XPRESSO such as:
Explains the two major user types (System Administrator and standard XPRESSO users) used in XPRESSO and how standard users are broken into four Group Member sub-roles; it also describes the Group and Group membership collaboration principles used in XPRESSO.
How to transition from a Guest User role in the Guest Group to another Membership role in a working group.
Introduces the XPRESSO dashboard and associate tasks related to general operations (such as configuring User Preferences) and general rules (conventions) that apply.
Provides information about XPRESSO's onboard System Notifications, Messages, Actionable Requests and Webex Team Notifications and how to get help if required.
Once you understand the basic building blocks of working with the XPRESSO dashboard and creating and executing a Job run, a suggested reading path is provided to gradually introduce you to the full complement of XPRESSO's features. Tasks are broken out into standard, advanced, and optional tasks.
