Claim your gateways
Claim your supported gateway to reserve them for exclusive use by your organization. Once claimed, you can remotely manage the gateways in your deployment, and use AnyConnect to remotely interact with devices behind the gateway.
Before you begin
Complete the following requirements before powering on or connecting your gateways to the network.

Gather the gateway serial number(s) |
The serial number(s) are located on the back or side panel. |
Claim a gateway
(Optional) Create a Template for your gateway.
Select Gateway > Gateways and select the Monitor tab.
Click Claim gateways.
Enter the Set up settings:
- Serial Number—(Required) Enter the device's unique serial number.
- Model—Select the gateway model number.
- Custom Field—(Optional) Select the Custom Field definitions used to group and tag your gateways for search and features such as application deployment policies. Modify the Custom Fields, if necessary.
- Address—(Optional) Enter the address where the gateway is installed. This location is displayed on the dashboard map if GPS is not used.
- Click Next.
(Required) In the Configuration screen, select or create a configuration template to define the device network settings. Learn more
- Default Template—The default Network settings are read-only. Click Next. Tip: The default template can be changed in Gateway > Templates tab.
- Create New Template—Enter the gateway network settings and click Next.
- Saved Template—Select an existing Configuration template and click Next.
(Optional) In Fog & Device:
- Applications—The listed IOx fog applications and will be installed based on the Custom Field definitions.

- Devices—(Optional) Enter the device name and click +. These device names can be selected when you add the actual device. For example, when you discover devices, you can select these names rather than entering the same device name for every gateway. Learn more
Click Next and review the gateway settings.
Click Submit.
Wait for the gateway state to change to Up.

Click "Name your gateway" and rename the gateway.
A unique name allows you to search for gateway names (as opposed to serial numbers) when managing a large number of gateways. For example, a gateway name might include the gateway's model number, physical location, and/or the type of assets that are connected to it.
- Click the gateway name.
- In the Summary tab, enter a new name.
- Click Save.

Delete a gateway
If the gateway is no longer used by your organization, delete it from your account. All devices, applications, and data will be removed from the gateway.
- Select Gateway > Gateways and select the Monitor tab.
- Select the gateway and click Delete.
- Click Delete to verify.
