Overview
The Cisco GMM mobile app allows you to claim gateways and view the status and basic information about the gateways in your organization.
For all other features and options, use the web-based Cisco GMM Cloud Application.
Download the app
On your mobile device, go to the Apple or Android app store and search for Cisco Kinetic, then follow the on-screen prompts to download the app.
Log in
On your mobile device, tap the Cisco Kinetic app.
If logging in for the first time, select or enter the Cisco GMM URL for your location and tap Save.
For example, select the US cluster or EU cluster depending on your location.
Enter your username and password and tap Log In.
Tip: To select a different GMM URL, tap Change login settings.
If using 2-factor authentication (2FA), enter the additional one-time password (OTP) generated by a 2FA app.
Note: You can enable 2-factor authentication (2FA) in the web-based Cisco GMM Cloud Application.
Select your organization from the list, or use the search field to locate it.
Claim a gateway
- Tap Claim or Modify Gateway.
- Select a claim option:
- Tap Next.
- Select an option and follow the on-screen prompts:
- Quick— Use the default template for the device model. You can optionally select the Custom Field definitions.
- Advanced— Allows you to select the following additional options, such as a fog application, advanced template variables, or an alternative template.

Name |
Enter a meaningful name for the device. |
Model |
Select the model from the menu, or tap Scan and point your device camera over the PID/VIN number located on the back or side panel. |
Custom Fields |
(Optional) Select the custom field definition(s), if available that are used to group your gateways or provide additional information.
Custom field definitions are also used to apply data routing policies to groups of gateways.

Template |
Default template:
Select Default and tap Next.
Select the additional Template Variables, if available. See Advanced templates for more information.
Saved template:
Tap Saved to select an alternative template that was created using the web-based Cisco GMM Cloud Application.

Fog Applications |
(Optional) Tap the toggle button to enable and install fog apps on the gateway.

Subtended Devices |
(Optional) Add the names of the devices, such as sensors, that are attached to the gateway. |
Review |
Review the settings and tap Finish.
Tap Back to change the settings. |

Show gateway info
- Tap Show Gateways.
- To display a summary the claim and heath status for all the gateways in your organization, tap Status.
- To display detailed information about a specific gateway, and modify basic settings, tap List.
Most gateway fields are read-only, but you can also modify the following information.

Tap edit to change the gateway name. |
Address |
Modify the fields to indicate where the gateway is physically installed.
Tap location to auto-enter your current location. This only works if you allowed the app to access your location when logging in.
Tap save to when you are done. |
Delete |
Tap Delete at the bottom of the screen to remove the gateway from your organization. The gateway can be re-claimed, if necessary. |
