Introduction to Industrial Wireless
Industrial Wireless (IW) is a secure, cloud-native, scalable service to provision and manage Industrial Wireless devices. Catalyst IW9167E, IW9165E and IW9165D access points and IEC-6400 gateway operate in Cisco Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul (URWB) mode. This end-user IoT Operations Dashboard service also allows to configure and upgrade the firmware of connected industrial wireless devices remotely.
Industrial Wireless service also supports the offline mode for air-gap networks. You can download the configuration files from the IoT OD IW inventory table and upload them in bulk for each device without connecting it to the cloud.
Below is the example architecture of the IW device with IoT OD:
Industrial Wireless Dashboard
IW Service, which is part of the IoT Operations Dashboard is a simple-to-use cloud-based lightweight graphical user interface. The dashboard displays the unified health information of all the devices that are part to the organization. The dashboard shows details such as name, device status, IP address, model, serial number information, firmware version, mesh ID, and group of the industrial wireless device. The orange warning triangle under the Configuration column indicates the device firmware version is not the latest. Click on the device name to view summary details and configuration details.
